3rd Floor Unit in Milwaukee
I own a property in Milwaukee near Marquette's campus. I'm looking to make my 3rd floor into a separate unit, the house is currently zoned RT4 which would support a 4th unit unit on the property. So in total I would have a small storefront and 3 units in the house. I checked the law and I would conform to the fire code for a top floor unit. Depending on who I talk to at the city some people are saying I can't make a 3rd floor living space. Does anyone know if this would be legal/is it worth it to look into rezoning the property if necessary?
