Can’t find any wholesalers on Long Island
Try looking on craigslist or do a search on google for we buy houses for cash outfits on long island. There are plenty of those out there. I am currently working on generating leads here in Nassau County, feel free to message me.

I’m looking for leads on renovation/rental projects in Farmingdale, Bethpage, Levittown or Huntington... i was thinking that getting in touch with wholesalers would be a good start? Any recommendations?

Hello Paul, welcome! we have a small meetup here on long island if you are interested. There are several investors and flippers, as well as some people that wholesale deals.
Like others have said, if you look online you will find some wholesalers.

If you're an agent you can do a 6 month search for all the cash closings in your area
Some will be name some LLC's skip trace those or send a letter
Call Bandit signs if any

You can also do an MLS search and under purchaser look for "contract Vendee" aka wholesaling

I'm currently wholesaling within NY as well as working with a direct lender for Hard Money Funding.
There definitely aren't too many people wholesaling or doing direct-to-seller marketing in the Long Island and NYC area with consistent volume - I can probably count only about 5 on Long Island off the top of my head. The marketing cost per deal in this area is much higher than in other markets and the sales cycle is much longer, which can create a tough barrier to entry because you need a much longer runway of cash/time to invest before you start seeing any returns.
