BRRRR question and financing question

Are individuals refinancing in there own name and renting the property with the title still in there own name? I assumed it was all under an LLC but it seems to be a bit harder and more expensive to get a mortgage or refinance under an LLC. So what is the best path to finance rental properties and how to hold the ownership?
