laundry room lights

I have a duplex that I am getting ready for rental.

Each unit has its own laundry room, each laundry room has its own door, entrance lock, and inside is that unit's own washer, dryer, a utility sink, hot water heater and storage cabinets.

Each room is about 66" by 60" and has an old fashion chain pulling light, just a bare bulb.

I would like to switch these out but do not feel like doing the work of running a switch to the space by the door so I am thinking of a motion sensor light.

But most motion sensor lights are outdoor security lights. They are not down lights and often are covering more distance than I need and 150w halogen or mercury vapor is an overkill.

I also don't like battery operated LESs, I have a power source.

I know they sell those socket extension with motion deyecyion for about $20, is this my solution?

Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated.
