Rehabbing a property in Baltimore Md.

Hello BP Pros,

I am rehabbing a property in Baltimore and it is one of the old old townhouses.  The house has a Hugh oil tank in the basement. Is there anyone here from the area or who invest in the area and can recommend someone who can remove the oil tank for a reasonable price?  I would appreciate any assistance you may provide.

Thanks in advance,

Tracy

Be careful with people who take them for free -- you're generally talking about scrap metal haulers and they might not be too careful about making a mess.  I had a guy remove a basement oil tank once.  Great price...and he spilled oil sludge in my 1st floor trying to get it out of there.  Took me 2 weeks to clean it up and get the smell out.

You'll also want to make sure the sludge is properly disposed of at the county landfill.  Otherwise it will end up in our beautiful Chesapeake Bay.

I’m the first to look for the best price in anything, but when it comes to matters like this it’s best to reach out to environmental hazard specialist. Like the old saying goes, “Good work is not cheap and Cheap work is not good”
