Was hoping that someone could help me out with this JADU question.
"Maximum size is 500 square feet, however, an additional 150 square foot expansion beyond the physical dimensions of the existing structure is permitted strictly to accommodate ingress and egress to JADU."
How would the 150 sq ft expansion to accommodate entering / exiting look like? Is this a question better suited for an architect?
Since the JADU is made by carving out of the existing single-family home, there may be a need/want to add up to 150 SF to allow better access to that portion of the property and the new unit itself (you need to provide an exterior entry as well). It certainly has a discretionary aspect to it, but, if you include the area as more of a vestibule/coat closet area and make a clear distinction on the plans for the area you will be OK.
