I am considering a similar strategy in other markets. Buy an old B&B, renovate, and simply rent the individual rooms on Airbnb, VRBO etc. Guests get a private room and communal kitchen and living/game room. No onsite staff needed, just a daily cleaning service. Is this similar to your model?
Hi Zander Kempf & @Lauren Keen Aumond I am looking at doing the same and would love to know if either of you are interested in looking at what I have put together. I have 2 partners in mind that I will be presenting to soon. I think this is a very easily duplicated model and a great plug and play for tourist destinations with old, outdated B&B's.
Hi Zander and Liz, our short term rentals are going well!
Zander - we could probably run this remotely, however, for now we living in the main house on the property with 3 STRs in the back. The cleaners are here a few times per week. The future state will be for us to rent the whole main house as well. I don't think we will do room-by-room, although this is what the previous owner did. Sorry for the delay in my response.
