I was wondering if any other buy & hold investors have used a professional photographer to take pictures of the exterior/interior of their properties to be used for listings online. A lot of the listings I see online only contain a few pictures and were clearly taken using a camera-phone. I would imagine that getting a professional photographer to come in, take a large number of quality photo's, and utilize lighting techniques would pay dividends in regard to increasing interest in properties and the price it ends up being rented for.
Does anyone have opinions on using a professional as opposed to taking pictures yourself? If this is a good idea, could you point me in the direction of someone in Raleigh who does a good job with this?
I haven't used a pro for rentals, but I do for my sales. @Trey Thomas does an AMAZING job, and every house he has shot for me has sold the first weekend on the market.
I've decided to do this going forward. As my properties turn over I will be getting professional photos. It will help them stand out and I'm tired of the poorly lit, out of focus shots.
I think professional pictures are key. First impressions are important. Nowadays, with almost everything done online, pictures are what the potential buyers and renters see first when they search various sites. These professional pictures make a fantastic first impression and will get people calling and in the door.
Like @Dawn Brenengen , I agree @Trey Thomas does a wonderful job. He did one of mine a few months ago (just for my own records) and it looked tremendous. My broker really loves his work, as well. We just started a flip this week and will use him again when we're complete.
