Anyone scoping out WY real estate with the imminent boom?
Looking for people who are monitoring the Wyoming markets now that Bill Gates' nuclear plant is heading to Kemmerer/Lyman. Let's strategize!

It will bring a large number of people in for a short period of time, then the majority of them will go away. There may be 2,000 people for the construction of the site, but only a few hundred will be permanent. Unless something else moves into the area, I just don't see a big explosion.

LOL! I see what you did there.

Hey @Brianne Lee, welcome to BP. It looks like you are in Cheyenne. I am in Thermopolis. I did live in Laramie for awhile going to college. There used to be a REI meeting there, but I have not heard from them in 4 or 5 years. Good luck on your investing.

Nice to meet you, Jerry! I'm actually in Rock Springs but for some reason it didn't let me choose that? I'll keep my eyes peeled for decent REI meetings in the area, and let you know if I find anything. Cheers!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm from Rock Springs so all I've ever known is boom-and-bust. Any suggestions on how to capitalize and get out before a bust?

Jerry, I'm working with an investor from Laramie that does creative purchasing around the state. He just invited me to a meetup in Casper this Friday. It's more for the people he's already working with, but I'll see if he has other meetings that may work for us.

Biggerpockets has a limited number if cities to choose from. Most cities don't have enough active members to justify their own category.

Set up an Rv or camper park. Set your rates to meet your objectives over a 3 year time frame.
Cargo containers are less expensive now. Price them to make your objective. Then sell at the end. Can add them as needed.

@Brianne Lee and @Nathan Gesner, I think maybe buy a few houses with 6 or 7 bedrooms, add a few more and rent out by the room for $800 a month. They should be paid off by the end of the boom. Just a thought. Maybe we should make a road trip to all meet and strategize?
