I am looking at a deal (Duplex) that is within a community of condos (Duplexes and SFH).
For some reasons, the parcel is by itself, out of the association, owned by the seller. Everything around is part of the condo regime.
Anybody had a similar experience ?
Seller says the condo association tries once in a while to make him join, but he has always refused.
I am wondering if it could be trouble down the road.
I'm thinking the duplex was existing before the community did and that developer simply built around the duplex. I'm assuming the duplex and the rest of the community have shared infrastructure, like the roads and street lights and the association is paying to maintain and the owner of the duplex is not obligated to join, but the HOA would like if he did.
I don't think there's going to be a problem later down the road, but see what the fee is and what it covers. Maybe, the association cuts the lawns and that can be included in the fee.
