I live in a gated community of single family homes in California. I am having a problem, because my motorcycle does not trigger the induction loop for the exit gate. I have submitted a work order with the management company which said that the induction loop would have to be changed out for a more sensitive version, and that board approval would be needed to do the work. When I enquired about any other, less dramatic options, they said that they could program an exit remote for me but it would cost ME $40. Doesn't the HOA have the ultimate responsibility to ensure that home owners can enter and exit the community? I can't help but think that if my car or truck wouldn't open the gate they would be quick to find a solution. However, since it's just a motorcycle, they're making it my problem. Should I fight this charge??
