Looking for local investors

Posted

Hello, I am looking at purchasing a house hack in Tempe, AZ in the next 6 months. Are there any locals that have done a similar strategy open to meeting for coffee? Thanks!

@Christopher Walrod if your personal situation allows you to house hack it can be a huge shortcut to becoming a real estate investor. I'm assuming you are talking about renting out the rooms in a SFH vs buying and living in a small multi-family. The key to house hacking in a SFH is buying the biggest house that you can afford in the best neighborhood that you can afford. Shoot me a message if you want to meet up for coffee, I'd be happy to help you.

Hi Christopher,

Welcome to BiggerPockets!

That's great that you know the investing strategy that you'd like to execute, as that's often part of the initial battle.

Best of luck with your RE goals!

Hello Christopher,

I'm currently in Florida, but I'm quite familiar with the Phoenix area and especially house hacking. I actually have been house hacking for two years now. What specific questions you have? DM and we can chat.

Best,

Brandon

Hi Christopher, I just closed on my first-ever house hack right in Tempe/Mesa.

Noah Corwick is a great agent that helped me get it done.

@Christopher Walrod

You're on the right track! Posting on here and trying to find connections with local pros is a great start.

I'd recommend going to some local meet-ups and meeting some of the agent suggestions you get over the phone or a coffee. I think it is very important that your agent is saavy with local investing, but also someone you get along with. Hopefully, this will be longer than a one-off relationship for you to start your investing journey.

Also, do you have your strategy narrowed down? Rent by the room, renting out other unit/s in a small multi-family, etc.?

Good luck on your journey!

@Christopher Walrod Welcome to the Phoenix real estate world! House hacking in Tempe is a great strategy. There are some great properties on the market plus Tempe's city council is looking at expanding the rules for ADUs. I'd love to connect!
