Renting out Campers

Has anyone done STR or MTR with a camper? I have a buddy who is open to me taking over payments for his camper. Other than doing travel nursing, I have no use for a camper. Anyone have any luck renting out a spot at a park and placing the camper on AirBNB? I dont own any land, so would need to rent a spot.

Is it better to move places depending on demand, rent out just the camper and make the renter pay the lot rent, or find one spot to set up camp?

Besides RV parks being either no spots available or pretty expensive, $400 - $500 month here in the Temple and Belton area when we where looking for a site for a friend, I would think most places would not allow to sublet the RV Trailer for AirBNB Purposes.

Outdoorsy, RVEZY, American Adventure RV, will all allow you to post it for rent on their sites with pretty good results from what I have read.

My wife and I did it with a class A RV for a few years and it was very profitable. We listed on RV Share and Outdoorsy. The hardest thing was repairs. If you can do it yourself (I had to do a few) you’ll be in good shape. Otherwise, it can be weeks to take it into a shop. Make sure you collect enough security deposit to cover your insurance deductible. Ours was $1500 per rental and renters paid it with ease. We rented out our class A for $200-$250 a night. Comp the websites for whatever model you have. It’s not exactly “passive” income as you have to be involved with each delivery and return, but it’s a good extra income.

If you don't buy this send my way. Have a friend looking for a camper to live in in Bell county.
