Can I wholesale a property under my name or do I need to form an LLC?
I would have found it a hindrance over the years from the seller's perspective. My sellers have liked dealing with a real person. Having a company as buyer may scare some folks.
There aren't any real tax advantages I know of with doing active activity inside an LLC. Maybe mileage or something, but that's a pain to document and file in itself.
Are you looking for asset protection? Wholesalers don't own assets. Liability protection? Anonymity? Again, sellers like dealing with people in my experience. What advantages do you seek by utilizing an LLC @Kyle Evans ?
I would be more inclined to conduct 'active' business activity inside an S-corp, but would consult a pro before doing it.
