Investment rental home insurance
I am looking to renew and change my insurance carrier. Could some one from this location help me?
@Senthilraja R. Baton Rouge can be a difficult area to find insurance. I know of several carriers that work in that area but also have certain zip code or area restrictions. Who is your current carrier and can you tell us more about the property? While I am not from the area I have insured and quoted many property in that area. If you have any questions or would like any assistance send me a PM.

Thanks for the message.
This is for a single family rental house. Newly constructed in 2021, Zip code - 70791 (Zachary). It was insured with AccessHome insurance and it got dissolved and later absorbed by Safepoint.
@Senthilraja R. Since your home is newly constructed it should be much easier to find insurance. With coastal areas the carrier may want to do a 4 point inspection before binding the policy. I would take a look at Travelers, Liberty Mutual, Safeco and Berkshire Hathaway they all will offer you a quote. If you work with an independent agent they can most likely get a quote through all of them for you and many other carriers to quickly see who will be your best option.

Quote from @Kevin Hoag:I checked with couple of agents and looks like no one is writing the policy at this moment.

Have you tried reaching out to an insurance brokerage? They should be able to find a carrier for you.
Hi, I’m nearby in Baton Rouge and we have our rental insured through foremost. It was difficult to find someone to write the policy.
@Jennifer Breaux Foremost is/was awesome but FYI as of Oct 1st they stopped insuring 2,3 & 4 family dwellings. If you already have one with them you should be good but if you acquire a multifam they won’t touch it for another year (or two) we’ve heard.
