Rent is Too Damn High! - Quick Question

There has been a ton of news coverage in the past few years about the rise of rental rates throughout American cities. Several have noted that this prices out ordinary Americans to rent reasonable places. In addition, the construction of affordable housing hasn't kept up with demand only to exacerbate the problem.
I'm interested to hear what the BP community is seeing in their markets.
Are you witnessing similar trends in your market?
If so, where do you see people who can't afford the market rents moving to?
