Finding Friendship: How to Grow Your Clique

Normal 1560776775 Finding Friendship How To Grow Your Clique

No man is an island, so as the saying goes. We will have to admit that we need other people on this journey called life. We simply cannot face adversities and hurdles without the help and support of others.

I know this after years of being in the real estate business. Going beyond the business aspect of it, there is actually more to friendship than just creating a network of partners.

I don’t believe in using people just to attain my own goals. Not only is it unethical, but it’s also a bad example of how you can live your life. I have been put in this world not just to profit from multifamily properties.

My purpose is more than just to create opportunities for myself. I want to make an impact in the lives of people, and I can do that by building a friendship with someone who shares my passions.

When it comes to finding friendship, you don’t have to look far and wide to find people you can trust. With these tips, you can definitely find friends who can join you in your battles.

1. Be open-minded

Being open to new ideas is attractive. People who want to try out new concepts and never let their prejudices take control of their perspective in life are worth befriending. That said, an open mind allows you to be more accepting of other people. You give people the impression that you never discriminate and that you are capable of looking past your ego.

2. Be where the people are

The most effective way of finding friendship is to take action. You need to be among people in order to find individuals who you can form valuable relationships with. It can be anywhere, from the office down to the community clubs you join.

Still, we all know how difficult this would be to self-described introverts. Then again, if you want to feel a little less lonely in life, loosen yourself up a bit and throw away the fear of socializing.

3. Have a great sense of rumor

As they all say, “Laughter is the best medicine.” When you make people laugh, it’s as if you’re helping them cope with the challenges of life. Whether it’s a funny story or a joke, anything that brings out a chuckle from another person creates an opportunity to form a close bond.

When you have a great sense of humor, you’re drawing people in with your positive aura. So, be fun and enthusiastic, and always remember to make people smile.

4. Learn to listen and empathize

Each one of us is going through hardships of some form. In fact, life would be incomplete if we’re living it with no worries. Even though I maintain a jolly attitude, I still experience difficult challenges. Along with this experience, I began to realize that other people are going through the same thing. It’s only a matter of understanding where people are coming from.

Sure enough, they can tell you a lot about how they’re coping with their problems. You can then adopt the same approach to the problems you’re facing. This healthy exchange of experiences serves as a catalyst for fostering a friendship that you know will last.
