@Jordan Moorhead That's so awesome you used to be in PT and very encouraging to hear you've had success with real estate as well. How long after your move/you stopped running your PT business did it take to start buying properties in Austin?

@Karl B. Thanks so much Carl! I really appreciate the input man, and that's definitely my dilemma. I know time is a critical factor for REI so it's tough to put it off even knowing we won't be here too much longer.

@Aaron Bihl haha no disagreement there Aaron! As a self-employed Personal Trainer I know I’d essentially be starring over when we move, which is fine, but my cash flow with our low living expenses and the business I’ve built up makes me want to save as much as possible before we head over. Then buy as many great deals I can :)

@JOSE BATISTA ABIKARRAM thanks so much Jose! I guess my biggest concern (especially since it’s my first deal) is fast forwarding 3 years from now and trusting a management company to take care of all the issues with the 4-unit. Granted, I wouldn’t be terribly far away but I’m not so sure it wouldn’t turn into a huge headache that I’d need to travel back and forth for.

@Nigel Guisinger that’s a great point Nigel! Hadn’t thought of it that way, thank you for the input man.

Hey all! I'm ready to take action and dedicate my time to finding a great deal, putting it under contract, and renting it out. My strategy is house hack a small multi family (3-4) for my first deal, FHA loan with little money down, buy and hold rental.

The problem is...my girlfriend and I are planning to move in 3 years as we’ve decided definitely we don’t want to start our family here in Houston (will likely move to San Antonio).

Should I wait until we move to jump in or start here in Houston and plan to hire a management company when we leave?

I’m assuming no appreciation growth in 3 years to be conservative (especially when factoring selling costs but again, my strategy is buy and hold).

All your advice is sincerely appreciated!

Hey all! I’m a new investor trying to get my “feet wet” here in Houston, but I’m planning to move into a new market next year so I don’t want to be tied down w/ any tangible properties.

I’d love any information or recommendations on wholesaling here in Houston.

I’m a Health Coach & Personal Trainer so my afternoons are free for scouting, ground work prospecting, and networking.

Thank you in advance for you help!
