@Elizabeth Wilson- The condo was purchased without finishes from the builder. Hired a carpenter to help design and install the custom Murphy bed. 

@Megan Greathouse - Hi Megan, both properties are in SF. It wasn't easy to break in, had to do a lot of homework :). Heard great things about Saint Louis for turn key properties. What are your thoughts on the rental market there? 

@Chingju Hu- Thank you! Congrats on closing on your first rental property. Is it in SF? Are you familiar with Vegas area?

I can definitely put you in touch my contractors etc., but keep in mind that I managed the projects myself and would show up every day before and after my 9-5pm to make sure things got done on time. Managing contractors is key to getting projects done on time.

Alice K. - thank you! The initial plan approval and permits took me about 5weeks, used a local architect who was pretty familiar with city guidelines which helped out a lot.

Ariel Vincent - will publish the post on rehab over the weekend. Would love to learn more about what you are doing I.e., furnished rentals. Vandana Rao - thank you! Yes would love to meet up sometime. Let me know if you are ever heading to SF. I work in South Bay and can always head over Fremont if that works.

Hello BiggerPockets! 

I moved to SF right after college, been here for about 11years. Work in technology and always had a thing for real estate. Used to work as a temp associate for Toll Brothers in college days in Northern Virginia, was fascinated by the process of building houses etc., Bought my first property (Condo) in 2011, sold it a couple of weeks ago. Bought my first rental unit in SF in 2015, fixed it up and turned it in to a duplex, loved the process and been happy with it so far. Happy to share my experience with the rehab process, might make a post about that in couple of days.

Found out about BiggerPockets couple of months ago, been listening to the podcasts and would love to meet like minded folks and learn more about real estate investing.
