Real estate investing isn’t always about the speed of the chase – sometimes patience is key and the amount of deals you close might not be as important as the quality of each deal.
If you’d like to hone your deal-finding skills and knowledge of your local market, don’t miss out on this BiggerPockets Podcast episode, where we sit down with Anson Young to discuss the art of unearthing great deals, which properties are the best to flip, and how to handle a hot real estate market.
Anson got started in the real estate world back in 2004, when he moved to Arizona and bought his first house. A year later, he sold the property and moved back to Denver with his first big check, and he has been in the Colorado real estate game ever since. Exploring many sides of real estate investing, he’s found a niche in the wholesaling market and continues to grow his network and expertise of the local real estate environment.
If you want to hear more about the many forms of real estate investing and how to break into your local market, be sure to check out this episode!

Great podcast, this is where I want to be with wholesaling and flipping when I move back to the United States.
Thanks for mentioning our Seoul, South Korea meetup.
Glad to hear you guys love getting our pictures.
Thanks for listening as always, John, and of course, thanks again for the enthusiasm with your group!
I had no idea there were meetups in Seoul! Thats awesome!
Anson you and Josh are always welcome to come and visit our small group.

is it just me seeing strange symbols in the above text?
Aleksey, it’s not just you. WordPress must be in a strange mood today. I fixed it; thanks for noticing!
I’ve halfway met my goal of being on the podcast even if Anson did call me “her”! Thanks for reminding those of us in competitive areas that we can still find opportunities, we just need to focus and do the work.
Yes, Micki did choose the new BP Denver meetup place and its pretty awesome! 🙂
Do you have a sample list of documents and checklist used for wholesaling?
Not really at this time, I’ll work on one in a blog post and send it to you.
Great podcast! Thanks for a shout out to the Seoul, Korea Meet Up Group. It’s exciting to be mentioned by the Mothership ^^ We have another meet up planned for Dec 6 in Seoul.. details coming soon. If you’re in Korea and wanting to meet other cool people who are investing both in Korea and abroad, to share ideas, resources and help keep each other motivated and focused, then come on by!
Nice!! I’m still blown away that there are meetups abroad, very cool! Maybe I can business expense a trip out there… hmmmmm 🙂
That would be AWESOME ^^

Hi, thanks for the podcast! Anson, what amount deposit do you put down to place a wholesale deal under contract? If the seller objects to a small EMD, like $100, what response do you have for them? I appreciate it!
Hi Anson,
Fantastic show (again). I also found the tip on finding private lenders to be brilliant – and if you don’t mind me asking – was the list you were referring to for that list the “Private Party Lender Prospects” on Listsource? If not, can you let me know what search criteria you used? Thanks again.
Great Job Anson! That little gem on List Source for private money was awesome! I’m getting some mailers out stat!
Thanks again!!
Sincerely,
Mark Updegraff
Great podcast.
One question, in the q/a section of the podcast, @Anson mentions looking for contractors at Home Depot when they open (early morning). I’d like to know what this means (not the ‘early morning’ part 🙂 ). Do you stand out front and ask people entering if they’re a contractor looking for work? Post fliers? I often see a small group of men standing near the road; presumably day laborers. These folks might be great for ‘heavy lifting’ scenarios, but we’re looking for experienced/capable craftsmen, ideally ones we can start a working relationship with. Kindly explain.
Best, –MA
AT WORK LISTENING TO PODCAST ALL DAY …LIFE IS GOOD ! THANKS FOR THE SHOW GUYS !
