For animal urine smells, I recommend one of the enzyme based sprays, such as Rug Doctor Platinum Urine Eliminator.

Besides the tennants can always put down a rug or remnant for comfort.  

You can use heavier curtains, rugs on floors and walls, etc.  

We usually hang shower curtains, add throw rugs, hangers and gift bags with tissue paper, a plant and door mat at the front door and lots of air fresheners.

The heating and cooling seems to cause the vinyl to expand and contract (especially under rugs and piles of laundry where the floor is insulated from room air)   It was especially bad with the adhesive edged LVP we got from HD.   

Everyone will talk about leveraging you money and other things, but ultimately it's your money and you should build the lifestyle you want with it - but just make sure you also build protections into it so people can't pull the rug out from under you.

The design is what's killing you and adding some rugs, wallpaper, art, and accessories would do a world of good.

Some of the damages include ~$7,800 of missing property, kitchen cabinet doors ripped off, a mangled chandelier, a damaged refrigerator, divots from a claw hammer in the granite, and urine and feces stains on rugs, furniture, and hardwoods from an unauthorized puppy.

In this case this owner, admittedly, pulled the rug out from them.

Be sure to add plenty of rugs to minimize damage.
