The oil and gas industry is doing a bunch of layoffs (tens of thousands) so home prices are dropping.  

Layoff notices appear in the media almost daily.

Does anyone have any insight on how the recent layoffs and closings of several oil field companies are affecting the real estate market in Alberta Canada.

Bakersfield is far from the bottom as prices have appreciated a good amount in the past few years, but pressure from oil industry layoffs have keep prices lower than other areas of CA (some of which are pushing all-time highs).

The fact that he called on the last day of the offer at 7pm instead of the 1pm I told him about, stated that it wouldn't make a difference because it is an FHA loan and won't get approved anyways, and generally doesn't respond to my texts/calls (very few if any when I write, I try to lay off of contacting unless necessary) for several hours makes me think I shouldn't work with him.
