Just an idea, if it's not major stuff ( no permitting) Ace/HD/Lowes workers may be a decent start (if not they probably know others that would be qualified.

I buy contractor packs at box stores, unless they're the 2-inch thick ones that only Ace carries (not Lowe's or HD).  

Lots of different types of stone veneers to choose from as well other than the example I posted.I second and third removing the 80's porn star glassCan't quite see into the rest of the house over the glass wall, however maybe you could remove the wall and add a nice bannister/railing instead - similar to what is in this photo - of course custom built for your house.  

we are using vinyl click tiles from HD in a light gray stone color for a kitchen that leads to a 1950s oak hardwood floor.

If you buy HD or Lowes off the rack it is almost headache free.

I'm wondering if anyone has used the stick on tiles they carry at Lowes/HD.

The stuff at HD is epoxy--aquamix by Custom.  

If they need an up front payment for materials, I'll have them gather their things, call me, and I'll show up to Lowes or HD and pay for the materials. 

Cottage style shutters -these can be made very cheap,go to HD and buy 1x4 cedar fence posts for material, a set will cost less than $20.3.

HD and paint shop "free" advice will only cover 10% of what the OP really needs, and maybe 10% is an overstatement.
