If they ever fail or if they decide to move out, the utility reverts to the Landlord automatically so they avoid a shutoff (important in the winter with freezing temperatures).

This is a much more stressful environment for the piping with the extreme temperature fluctuations and the piping has been used in Europe for domestic hot and cold water systems for at least that long.

The temperature is going to be around zero out here in MO tomorrow and squatting in this part of MO is more accepted then in other parts of Greater Kansans City area due to the higher poverty margin and Laxer laws.

I would think it is legal, but check your local laws, there might be quirky clauses (like here, I am not allowed to set the water heater above a certain temperature....).I actually having something like that in my lease.

Typically temperatures don't rise into the 90s and it's not humid, and everything cools off at night.
