I went by HD and picked up compression fittings and did the work myself.

I’d say to start, HD not Lowes.

In the front, I use LED fixtures (some on HD website are $40!)

@Rachel Kokosenski - I have a 1 bedroom that has a Roku and an HD antenna that gets spotty reception.

Its just not the same when I max out my HD card buying appliances for several houses as some guy making $60k/yr with no assets racking up a credit card buying clothes and dinners he needs to finance.You've done well.

I get cabinets that are real wood (not the HD or Menards junk that falls apart).

The paneling is in great shape, and I use the SimpleMat from HD as the adhesive.

Not necessarily Lowes or HD... the later might have something but not necessarily the better stuff.

You can a metal patch with fiber mesh tape over it at HD.

What I'm getting at is I would like to avoid a situation where I run into HD to buy just $2.00 pack of screws and have to write a check for such trivial, one-off things.Is there an easier and more efficient way of doing this, while that the same time being able to keep track of possible tax deductible items, and not worry about comingling issues?
