The wife recently became a widow last year and wants out. 

The problem is that until very recently, it was foregone conclusion that my daughter would be acquiring my house sooner or later (purchasing or rent to own from me & my late wife, then just me after I became a widower), but now that's changed with me planning to remarry.

I’m wondering if this is just my area (central coast, Santa Maria), since people have not started building ADUs much yet.

One third of that comes from hard work, two thirds comes from inheritance, interest on interest accumulating to widows and idiot sons and what I do, stock and real estate speculation.

@Maria Barraza Thanks for your insight Maria, i will definitely take what you said into consideration with drawing a line on late payments! 

We reported it & 10 guys & equipment showed up from the town & deemed it a potential hazard BUT we could NOT remove it ourselves, even though we had also complained that tree limbs (widow makers) were falling on the sidewalk used by young school kids.

When I was widowed at 52 I was left looking to start over.
