The auditor is usually looking for the form to also match the substance of what your'e claiming.So possible but not recommended and even then you've got to have a helpful CPA at this point.

@Leeor Neh I guess my broader question would be what is the purpose of you putting your name on the deed of the property when it sounds like in substance/economically it is your parent's investment?

Hey Marie,I agree with you that disclosures in general are poorly constructed; just to clarify the exact wording of the disclosure for this issue:"Are there now or have there ever been any underground tanks or toxic or hazardous substances such as asbestos, urea- formaldehyde, methane gas, radioactive material, radon, mold, benzene or other environmental contaminants on or in the property?"

I can see why you’re wanting more, but I’d caution you to “beware lest you lose the substance by grasping at the shadow.”If you goal is driving more bookings, perhaps a better way forward’s simply a different platform manager with greater template flexibility?

If I can't even think it without laughing to myself, I'll pass on it.During an audit, the IRS looks at substance over form and, for things like a board of directors meeting while on vacation, they will look at total time spent in a meeting (1 hour??)
