I have been to the Cayman Islands plenty of times, and love it, but I want to find somewhere else - a hidden gem maybe... that has yet to explode as a tourist destination, but close enough to a major town that airlines can fly into as I need to make it somewhat affordable and accessible to people who would like to rent it out.

@Shivani KumarYou would need to operate on a very large scale, or have access to a TON of airline miles to make it worthwhile flying to inspect properties you are interested in.

We rent single family homes, so we have a conversation about yard maintenance, snow removal etc - have you don't this before, do you have the tools etcI also bring up house cleaning questions, by telling them we had a tenant who did not own a vacuum cleaner, did not know how to run a dishwasher, had a mess in the basement etc - and then see how they respond.That is a non-offensive way to talk about house cleaning and you'd be surprised how different the responses are.

I personally would also do booking.com but my experience has not been as negative as some others here.There are a lot of other platforms I use as a PM like Marriott Homes and Villas and JetBlue airlines but they only work with PM's with over 50 units.

I took early retirement from a major airline 1 1/2yrs  ago, at the age of 55, where I was a A&P mechanic for 24 yrs and now run/own a remodeling company in the Des Moines area.
