That is myopic in my opinion because there are tremendous deals in Texas markets like Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, etc.You need to look at the forest (income and expenses), not just the tree (property taxes) to get a complete and holistic picture of the property's financial performance.

It does take a holistic view though - you can't, for instance, say that a new HVAC was $1,200 for the motor, $300 for the belt, and $2,000 for other parts.
