I had a family living in my downstairs room for 2 months that were displacedAlso if you drive 101 north of Garberville you will see the confluence of the south fork and the main stem of the Eel River... when you cross the 101 bridge you look straight up and you will see the high water mark of the great flood of 1956... literally 30 feet above the height of the bridge and the bridge deck is 100 feet or so above the river.. that was biblical Noah's arc type of flood it rained almost 60 days straight on the north coast.
