As a mom who just sent my kid off to college, I'd be incredibly angry if my son did this after I've sacrificed and saved money for college for 18 years, volunteered countless hours for his schools starting in pre-school , worked late at night helping him study... 

Some learn to be good at it only after countless expensive mistakes ( I include myself in this group..).Don't necessarily let it scare you away just be aware of what you are dealing with and if it's a good fit for what you want to do.

Maybe not for you if your priorities are somewhere else, but yes for me and countless others on this site.
