I could care less whether a person has disabilities or not, what their race, gender, sexual preference, religion, or political affiliation is, or how many tattoos or piercings they have, etc. 

I am not sure how your sexuality, gender and color of skin have anything to do with your ability to "see" and/or understand effects "on the communities being displaced...".

As most have already said, as long as you haven't accepted them yet, you should be fine as long as your decision follows the Fair Housing Act (meaning you're declining of their application is not based on Race, Color, National Origin, Religion, Sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), Familial Status, or Disability). 

Anyone who pushes back against such law/regulation is probably hiding something, doing drugs or have sexual intercourse there.

You must also give your landlord a copy of a safety plan, which you can create with the help of your local domestic violence or sexual assault agency.

You should get credit, criminal, sexual predator, homeland security and verification of identity.
