Las Vegas is my niche, as like most visitors, I decided to try something else than losing money at the casinos.

But these day jobs mean that our REI adventure is a part-time affair.

Final thought: The 50% more profit from STR vs Long term rentals seems pretty glamorous...it’s like gambling at a casino and hitting 7’s....and then the dealer changes (regulation/inventory)There are over 2M STR listings in the US alone.

We just got the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino contract, and we are one of the largest alternative energy suppliers in the State right now, if not the Country.  

Going outside of those areas is an adventure!

I recall a fellow telling me that most people win in a casino; as I recall he had to borrow rent money after that experiment.  

also... consider this:“If you have a 401k or other retirement account, you owe it to yourself to understand the history of these retirement plans...The relationship between retirement plan sponsors (financial firms) to investors is similar to that of casinos with gamblers.

Granted, I'm pretty high on the ADHD scale... but I find change exciting, and moving onto something new means more opportunities to learn something different, to tackle new challenges.To me that doesn't have to mean boredom, checking golf scores at the country club or sipping appletinis on a beach, it's just that I enjoy far too many passions to spend 8hours a day doing any of them for very long (even if that thing is REI).At some point if the portfolio is a full time job then I'm bored with it and likely growing frustrated that it keeps me from other things, other pursuits and adventures.
