I trust people and expect them to be a man or woman of his or her word.As others have said, the seller didn't do anything illegal although it makes the seller look unprofessional, rude and a man who doesn't honor his word as he wasted your time. 

He was a very sweet engineering student who was rarely home, and after I asked him to be sensitive to her - within reason - he made extra effort, which was really going above and beyond.So, one night late, I get a frantic call from this woman who tells me she was sleeping peacefully in bed and randomly, the ceiling caved in on her!

And so some people dislike 'the man' (or 'the woman' to be politically correct).
