How did your first real estate deal change your life and perspective?

Has anyone on this forum purchased a tax lien that is listed as part of a life estate?

I have started listening to the Bigger Pockets podcast from the beginning, I have read Set for Life, and am going to start on Brandon Turner's books soon. 

We have a lot of life changes going on at the moment, so there's plenty of logical questions I have that I can't think of at the moment.Thanks,Sam

I think there might have been some recent relief for the banking network but it could still be an issue for life insurance companies and CMBS on the larger deals.  

Though the house was built in 1940, it had great bones and mostly needed design updates to bring it back to life.

Obviously this puts the responsibility back on the current owner of the property and will make your life much, much easier in the long run. 

Hospital liens are common at end of life.

It reminds me so much of the Eastern Block under the Soviet Union where you couldn't control your own private property and everyone operated in fear, knowing their neighbors could report the slightest violation and destroy their life.
