My question is how can I protect myself from legal issues if the internet service is in my name.

But learn the fundamentals and prove to yourself what you think about it, don't take word from someone from the internet :)

Networking can be a little tricky right now but I am absolutely going to push myself out there and start talking to people, even if it is just over the internet and phone right now.

Once we have contracts in place we can start the process of starting the hunt for another house for ourselves (potentially more of a primary residence with option to use as rental in the future if we choose to upgrade).

My other idea was to bring a business into that portion of the building, such as an internet cafe, and work with the tenant to help facilitate the package pickup.

I googled around as well, and I think there are multiple resources on the Internet.
