Not necessarily a deal-breaker, but needs to be accounted for in extra cost)- Lathe and Plaster has pros and cons (Make sure you know them)- Insulation in modified walls (Old houses tend to have wooden expansion walls built against stone exterior walls.

I'm located in Orange County, which I did not mention because I don't need to be too close to home, especially with current prices.I have been giving condos some thought because I feel I may have less (only the inside of the walls) to worry about but I know condos come with their own set of problems like HOA costs and politics, etc.

I stuck to the modern theme - replacing light fixtures from Amazon, peel & stick flooring in the kitchen, and adding a fresh coat of paint on the cabinets and walls.
