You’re definitely thinking in the right direction—having a property that doubles as a vacation home is a great way to enjoy personal use while building equity.

A reasonable accommodation is a change to a rule, policy, or practice that allows a person with a disability to fully enjoy and use their housing.

But a lot of folks writing those books were washing cars in 2008-2011, when the entire vacation rental market came crashing to the ground.  

I find I enjoy making money.  

I have been doing fix-n-flips and property rehabs for over 50 years and really enjoy doing them and overall, the returns have been quite good.I have one STR property in a tourist area that I did recently as a fix-n-flip and am holding for capital gains status - 2 years - and have a vacation property manager handling the STR. 

They didn't allow Air BnB , or to make it into a vacation rental .  

@Sami Gren notice to vacate means you are telling the tenants to leave. 

As an STR, do your diligence for the area and don't kill profit by vacationing there.
