Once you have the right team in place, having a project manager or someone to fill that type of position if you aren't doing it yourself but it's important to create a line item budget and calendar when milestones are expected to be hit before the work starts.

Referrals is often what makes teams that manage from afar best.

It seems that even if you're experienced in these fields, that experience is essentially worthless apart from assessing contractors.
