Add 4+2 then carry over 8+7
@Jim K. when I see 48+27 I add 7 to 48 which is 55, then keep the engine running knowing I’ve got 20 left to add which is 2 multiples of 10, my brain goes 55, 65, 75.
for me- 8+7=15, plus 60=75
I like the shift but don't do it.
8+8 =16 -1=+15
Carry the 1
4+2 =6 +(1)=7
Drop the 5 then carry the 1
What I thought of was 75% ARV.
The numbers did the adding by themselves.
I just looked at the numbers and my head said 75. I usually don't need to put much effort into adding small numbers. I wonder how many people had to get a calculator or piece of paper to answer this question.
I honestly thought this was a trick question, where you were going to say something like value add 27 to 48 and you get 100. Like when you do a $27K rehab on a $48K house and the ARV is $100K...
@Pat L. Is your grandson in NY? Because we are going through the same with our son...trying to help him with his math homework. Thinking about private school for 21/22. Exhausting.
My brain calculates it as 48+10+10+7=75
I add 7+8 =15 and 40+20=60 and 60+15=75. Or I think "where's my phone?". :-)
