I became an accidental landlord when I bought my first property seven years ago. After graduating college during the great recession and unable to find work, I struggled to find a home to rent that I could afford. Discovering I could buy a condo with monthly payments that were the same as rent, I house hacked for the first time. It worked so well for me that I went on to buy five more properties over the next seven years! I am a skilled and versatile handyman which has played a large part in making my rental business a success. I have been able to self-manage my units and repair just about anything and everything while keeping my homes up to date with the latest safety codes! I am proud of each and every home I own and that my homes are safe and comfortable. I joined BiggerPockets hoping to learn new ways to invest and buy from other property owners who are more experienced than myself. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who could provide insights and information that would help me be more successful in real estate investing. I am particularly interested in learning about unconventional ways to fund future projects.
