I started real estate investing at age 21. By the time I was 23 I owned a piece of land and a condo. My investing stalled as soon as I realized that the economy collapsed and the housing market crashed. I made several mistakes while in my twenties, including getting scammed by a telemarketer. Needless to say, I learned my lesson in a harsh way: I had to try to get as many overtime hours at work as I could. It took around 8 years for me to break even on the condo.
