I'm in my mid-20s and I just purchased my first property (live-in duplex) in November '17. I work as a web developer for a not-for-profit, but I have many other interests that keep me busy outside of work. I'm pursuing real-estate investing as a way to free up my time via passive income in the next 10-15 years as well as to gain skills renovating in order to fix up an old "Forever-Home" for my family in the future. Experience: I'm currently a rookie and am looking for experience in almost everything! Owning multi-family properties as both a landlord and as someone managing a few property managers, flipping/restoring houses, creative financing for little or no money down are my initial areas of interest. Real Estate Goals: Short Term (before 09/2018): - implement landlord systems to scale, treating my live-in duplex as if it were 1 of 50+ self-managed properties - pay off my dad's debt on parent student loans taken out for me to go to college - partner on/assist on a flip Long Term: Own enough local rental properties to generate enough passive income for me to scale back to a part-time or consultative role at my current job to allow more time to focus on family and other creative pursuits Currently Seeking: - Flip that I can partner/assist on to learn more, from deal analysis, to managing contractors and/or doing the renovation work personally - Multi-family property (or duplex, triplex, or fourplex) with at least one 2 bed/2 bath unit to live-in in or very near Sycamore, IL. Live-in unit preferably on ground level with no units above.
