Born in Northwest-PA but have lived in the D.C. beltway the better part of my adult life due to my choice of 9-to-5. Began my journey to financial freedom in 2016. Used Dave Ramsey’s “Baby Steps” to grasp personal finance and become debt free. After reading Rich Dad Poor Dad cover-to-cover in two nights, I decided to stray a bit from Dave and try Robert’s philosophy on investments. Both of these men represent different, but equally important sides, of the same coin in my wealth building strategy. Now in July 2019: my rental lease is up, I’m debt free, have a low-six figure W2 job, budding side hustles on Twitch and EBay, and an insatiable drive to get started in real estate investing. Planning on using a VA home loan to house hack (no choice, forced to live in it, much like FHA) a multi-family property (tri/quad plex preferred) in the D.C./Maryland/Virginia (DMV) triangle as we call it here. Any leads, off-market deals, or advice would greatly be appreciated if you are so inclined and have it in you to help a noob!
