Erik M. Rivera

Born and raised in Orange County, California, there was no shortage of ambition in my eyes. I grew up around my parents boutique property management firm. Through high school and on to my early adult years, I worked alongside my parents, absorbing every ounce of real world wisdom I could. Finally, I was time to come into my own person and leave the nest. At 23, with my parents providing the down payment, we signed the papers for a semi-custom, built from the ground up, single family home in the newly developing master planned community of Mountains Edge, in southwest Las Vegas. While there, I served on my associations board of directors, and soon was hired on as a portfolio manager for a prominent real estate management firm. I spent three years in Las Vegas, which included serving on multiple industry committees. After a few years, it was time to move on. I decided to head up to the beautiful Northwest. I immediately was hired on as a senior portfolio manager for one of the largest private, local real estate firms, specializing in multi-family and commercial properties, as well as the common interest development (HOA/COA) niche. Soon I transitioned working for a multi-national firm as their Northwest director of corporate services and business development, and then for a local land developer as a director. While there, I shifted my position to follow my true passion - development. We built a 104 mixed-use, multi-family apartment building in the heart of Capitol Hill, Seattle. It is after this, I founded my own firm, based in downtown Seattle. At less than 30 years old, I was sitting at my own desk in my own corner office on the 42nd floor of one of the most exclusive office towers in the Northwest managing a portfolio of real estate assets worth well over half a billion dollars and growing. I was elected to multiple legislative committees, and helped shaped real estate law in Washington State alongside talented colleagues. After more than four years, home was calling. My father was in and out of the hospital to the point I felt I needed to be close to home. After all, if I couldn't be there for family, what kind of man did that make me? I sold off many of my client contracts and moved back to sunny SoCal. I took some time off, tending to my family. Finally, I had to work - I couldn't stand being stagnant. I was recruited by a prominent real estate capital investment firm, with assets across the US. There, I served as Vice President overseeing acquisitions, leasing operations, and project management oversight of their student housing, multi-family, and co-living operations and assets. My duties occasionally flowed into their hotel operations side when needed. I have since resigned, because at the end of the day, their is nothing like waking up, knowing everything that you do is for your own legacy - so now, I work to continue my own legacy.
