I'm the founder and managing director of a international education and community development startup, which is in many ways is the culmination of various experiences that I've been fortunate enough to have. I studied abroad on multiple occasions during my time in college, notably in Cuba, Brazil, and the Dominican Republic, in addition to working in the political field, as something of a jack-of-all trades staffer for the mayor of a large midwestern city. In recent years, in the process of building my business, I have worked with NGOs, local and national governments, activists, and community leaders in Ecuador, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and South Africa on a wide variety of initiatives in entrepreneurship, sustainable development, and capacity-building, among others. All of these experiences were absolutely amazing, and I personally gained every bit as much as the intended beneficiaries of the initiatives. Now, I do freelance work as a political consultant/advance lead. Over the past few years, I've been living and investing in real estate in Puerto Rico (buy and hold, vacation rentals), with much fun, adventure, and success! I also purchased a property in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, which I also rent as a vacation rental when I’m not there. More recently, I bought a townhome and a duplex in Lisbon, Portugal, and am in the process of developing a tiny-home complex in the center of Porto, Portugal. Always looking for the next opportunity! Experience: I own multi-unit properties in Dorado and Aguadilla, Puerto Rico! Both were purchased distressed and needing major rehabilitation. We did or managed all of the work ourselves, taking frequent breaks at the beach! Now they're making very healthy returns as vacation rentals. I also own a studio in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, which I gut renovated, and two properties (a townhome and a duplex) in Lisbon, Portugal. I’m also in the process of developing a tiny home complex in Porto, Portugal. I'm looking for partners or lenders to invest in other opportunities in the near future. Real Estate Goals: In the next 5 years, I will produce a living income exclusively from my real estate holdings - which I expect to be at least 3-5 properties in different countries as well as in Puerto Rico, which will serve as both investment and lifestyle properties. Currently Seeking: New funding sources/ideas are always welcome - I bought my first properties in cash, which isn't necessarily the ideal way to go about it. Being self-employed, it's tough to obtain traditional financing, so I'm always on the lookout for potential partners, investors, and/or lenders! I'm also interested in networking and expanding my horizons - any ideas on real estate opportunities or strategies that incorporate income and lifestyle are also always welcome!
