Recently moved full-time into real estate entrepreneurship. Live in Ellensburg with wife and three kiddos. Experience: Currently own 5 houses (4 rentals and a primary). Purchased first one in 2008. 2 bed, 1 bath fixer with an unfinished basement in great neighborhood. Planned to gradually fix-up overtime. Wife (the bread winner) was laid off less than a year later and we had two options: sell or rent the house and move into the cottage in the back. Since my wife and father were laid-off due to the recession they spent the summer adding 2 beds and bath in the basement and renovating the kitchen. We then made the 400sqft cottage into an inspiring, efficient home for the next three years. During this time we recouped all of our renovation cost and saved enough to buy our second home which we also renovated with a new kitchen and bathroom.
