I am a Construction Worker/Union Plasterer in the Seattle area. I want to invest in cash flow properties that will allow me to eventually earn enough passive income to where I can go to college and become a CPA, something I think I would enjoy more than being a construction worker! As my occupation is one that doesn't have a high income (relative to my time in the field and the area I'm trying to invest in) it's been a challenge getting capital saved up in order to get my first deal under way. I believe by the end of 2018/beginning of 2019 when my lease is up for my apartment, I will be able to get an FHA loan for a duplex/triplex/quadplex and live in one of the units and house hack my way to starting my portfolio in real estate investing! I am also looking to connect with any other real estate investors and possibly be an apprentice of sorts to them so I can get a better understanding of how things work as well as potentially earn some extra income to supplement my savings.
