I've been interested in real estate on various levels for many years. It started with my first job out of college working for a short term apartment rental company in Paris. I loved the aspect of creating environments that connected people to the community; in that case it was tourists soaking up the excitement and beauty of Paris. Since then I knew I wanted to be involved in real estate in some aspect. My first endeavor was renovating a 1910 Edwardian home in Oakland which I also shared as an Airbnb. It was my primary residence for many years until I recently sold it. My partner and I are now living in and fixing up a small cottage-style home also in the East Bay. While our progress in RE is going slowly, the learnings are valuable. We are passively looking for more properties - SFRs or multi-family units - but the Bay Area, as many of you know, remains at the high end of the real estate market. In the meantime, I'm building a real estate-adjacent business focused on interior design and organizing where I'm helping people enhance their surroundings and manage through household transitions.
