Hi! My name is Kate. I am a mom, dietitian, wife, and real estate investor. My husband, Terry aka Junebug and I are going on 15 years of marriage and have been blessed with our miracle kiddo who is 8. We have 2 dogs...Meka and Nova that are pretty cool in their own ways. I grew up on a farm and from that experience I gained the skills of strong work ethic and being the queen of figuring sh*t out around here. I have had a variety of jobs and careers all of which those 2 skills were necessary. I'd say we inadvertently started real estate investing in 2009. My husband already owned a duplex when we met and he "house hacked" that place before the phrase was coined. That place has a lot of stories of just getting by as we had not a lot of money..like we created a pulley system to wrap the house in plastic in the winter to keep the warmth inside. We bought out second duplex in 2009 and house hacked that until 2014 when we moved into our home since we were pregnant with our first miracle baby after trying for 6 years. We then bought the house that literally is in our backyard to expand our backyard as that house had a huge lawn. Then we went on a trip and I then decided that I wanted to buy a place where we visited. That is when I went down the real estate rabbithole and found BiggerPockets. I devoured the content and continue to do so today. I took action and, although we did not purchase in Lake Havasu, we did purchase our first short term rental and sometimes mid term rental in Eau Claire. From there we purchased another in Durand, WI. And October, 2022 we closed on our third vacation rental in Chippewa Falls and now own Junebug Vacation Rentals. I am open to more real estate opportunities and different methodologies. I just need to learn how and then take action and keep doing it until I am great at that method and then move on. Otherwise I recently transitioned to a work at home for my dietitian side of things. I work about 20 hours per week at that job which allows me to have more flexibility elsewhere.
